Youth mission trips are adventuresome ways to teach about faith in God through Christ. Through working along beside of the disenfranchised, strengthening of current and building of new friendships, teens experience love in action.
Each day includes spiritual lessons that are underscored by the hands on work. Examples of such work are paintingthe exterior of a home, playing ball with inner city children, doing crafts and games with elderly in a nursing home, working in a community garden…
James 2: 14-25 reads:What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if you say you have faith but do not have works? Can faith save you? If a brother or sister is naked and lacks daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and eat your fill,” and yet you do not supply their bodily needs, what is the good of that? So faith by itself, if it has no works, is dead. (NRSV)
We take this scripture seriously as we seek to develop a meaningful faith in teens and adults alike.
